Installation

Kythia Convert is an incredibly fast, native media converter for Windows. It provides a seamless experience for converting images, videos, and audio directly from your File Explorer’s right-click Context Menu.

Instead of launching heavy Electron or Qt-based apps, importing files, setting up profiles, and clicking “Start”, Kythia Convert lets you just Right Click -> Convert.

Thanks to Kythia Convert’s true multithreaded backend written in Rust, it crushes traditional tools in batch processing scenarios.

Tested on Lenovo Legion 5 (i7-11800H, 16GB RAM, RTX 3060).

  1. Download the latest installer from the Releases page.
  2. Run it and follow the setup wizard.
  3. Once installed, open Kythia Convert from your Start Menu once. This will initialize the app and inject the required keys into your Windows Registry so the Context Menu works.
  4. You can now close the main window! Kythia Convert is permanently ready whenever you right-click a media file.

To uninstall Kythia Convert, simply use Settings > Add or Remove Programs on Windows and uninstall it like any other application. The installer is fully equipped with an uninstallation hook that will automatically and cleanly remove all Context Menu registry entries, leaving zero trace on your system.
